Life is full of challenges – peaks and valleys.  Everyone encounters difficulties and find ways to maneuver the obstacles.  How we react and overcome the problems and stresses of life can really be an important aspect of our daily happiness.  Certainly, dealing with life-altering tragedies and pain is never easy and not something we can simply ignore.  We have the face the realities and find ways to overcome.

In my own life, the heartbreaking difficulties helped define and expose what I believe is my life purpose.  Once I emerged from the struggles, I was able to heal and find meaning.  I wasn’t seeking purpose in the hurts, but purpose became clear through the healing.  I’d like to share some thoughts from that journey:

These days, a lot of people feel like they’re adrift and disconnected from their lives. They feel like they haven’t discovered their true purpose in life or the deeper meaning of their day-to-day actions. If you also find yourself feeling lost, you’re certainly not alone. The good news is that finding your purpose is a journey that can be made with a few helpful steps.

The first step to finding your purpose is to draw a clear distinction between the things you like to do and the things you’re truly passionate about. Many people settle into a certain career in their early adulthood without ever knowing what their true passions are. As a result, they find themselves feeling depressed and frustrated. To properly move forward and identify your purpose, it’s important to be honest with yourself about what things truly bring you joy and energize you.

The second step is to dedicate some time to daydreaming. You probably remember the wonderful process of daydreaming when you were a kid. These days, many of us ignore this blissful activity due to the overwhelming pressure we feel to live a productive lifestyle. Don’t be afraid to take a break and allow yourself to wander into a state of dreamy contemplation. This helps to tap into your unconscious and allow your creative ideas to flow.

The third step is to practice self-introspection, which is the process of turning your attention inward to explore your own thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through this process, you can gain a better understanding of who you are and the kind of lifestyle that makes you happy.

And lastly, don’t be afraid to reach out for help when you need it. Many of us are scared to reach out for help because we want to show that we’re strong and capable of taking care of ourselves. However, the process of finding your purpose can be challenging and sometimes frustrating. Don’t be ashamed to ask a therapist, mentor, or spiritual advisor for guidance.

These steps can be difficult to practice in the moment, but believe it or not, that’s where the joy and purpose truly lies. Don’t be afraid to take these steps and discover the beautiful story that’s waiting to be revealed. With the right kind of dedication and courage, it won’t be long before you start to feel the joy that comes with discovering your destiny.

 Do I have to know my purpose to be truly happy?

If you’ve ever asked yourself “Is it necessary for me to know my purpose in order to be happy?” then you’re not alone. Knowing one’s purpose in life is an age-old question, and while it’s true that having a purpose can bring a great sense of satisfaction, it’s just as true that many people find contentment without having a singular purpose.

Having a purpose can provide direction and structure for your life, teach valuable lessons, and give you a sense of accomplishment. But there’s no need to have a grand-scale purpose to be fulfilled in order to lead a happy and fulfilling life. Purpose can be found in simpler pursuits, such as finding joy in meaningful relationships, having a fulfilling career, exploring a hobby, developing personal skills, and giving back to the community.

While having a purpose can lead to greater levels of accomplishment and satisfaction, it’s also important to look at other factors in life that can provide happiness. Doing activities and associating with people that you enjoy, for instance, can provide just as much joy as having a larger goal.

Finding ways to appreciate the little things and embracing moments of joy are just as important. Spending time on activities that bring contentment, such as reading, playing music, or meditating, can also go a long way in providing euphoria and a stronger sense of self.

At the end of the day, it’s important to remember that everyone is on their own journey and their definition of happiness is personal. Whether or not you choose to find your purpose might ultimately depend on whether or not that kind of satisfaction is important to you, and how you define your own personal path in life.

Is it possible to find my true purpose when I’m feeling so discouraged?

We all go through phases of feeling discouraged, overwhelmed, or uncertain. It’s a normal part of life. But when these feelings persist or interfere with the ability to make progress towards your goals, it can be difficult to figure out how to stay motivated and keep moving forward. Knowing how to find purpose when you’re feeling discouraged can help keep you on track.

First and foremost, it’s important to remember that your purpose can change. Your dreams and goals are likely to evolve as your life circumstances evolve, so it’s okay if your ideas of life purpose and fulfillment do too. In fact, it should be expected.
